Single Ladies’ dancing baby is YouTube hit

Saturday, September 26, 2009

If you haven’t heard yet, Beyonce isn’t the only “bootylicious” dancer who has graced the world with her presence. New Zealand toddler Cory Elliot is giving the superstar a run for her money. According to his parents, who happened to have a camcorder ready to catch his adorable dancing antics, the diaper-wearing tot "just began to dance when the Beyonce video came on the TV.” The 20-month-old bounces, shakes and shimmies while holding onto to the coffee table as Beyonce’s megahit video “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” plays on their television. His parents uploaded the video to YouTube earlier this year to share with friends in their native New Zealand, but now the video has become a YouTube hit, generating more than one million hits.

This isn’t the first time Beyonce’s amazingly choreographed video has created a bit of a public frenzy. Justin Timberlake and Andy Samburg donned black leotards and high heels to parody the making of the music video on Saturday Night Live. The video also generated media attention when Kanye West abruptly grabbed the microphone during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Music Video during MTV’s Video Music Awards to acknowledge Beyonce’s video. “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time,” West said. “One of the best videos of all time!” I’m sure baby Cory would agree!
