Latest betting ahead of this weekend's Miss World competition...

Paddy Power
report that Katharine Brown, the reigning Miss Scotland, leads the way amongst the British beauties ahead of this weekend’s Miss World competition.

Miss Brown is 20/1 to take the crown in South Africa, ahead of Miss Northern Ireland (40/1), Miss Wales (50/1) and Miss England, who is a rank outsider at 80/1.

Miss Scotland has become a strong contender from the outsiders for the competition following after a strong performance in the Miss World beach beauty category.

Darren Haines, spokesman for Paddy Power, said: "It’s the betting all our traders are queuing up to set the odds for and causes more arguments as to who should be favourite than any other market we offer.

"However after much deliberation it looks like Miss Puerto Rico is the one to beat this year – but we’re very wary of Miss Scotland in this ever popular market."

Miss Puerto Rico, Jennifer Colon, is at time of writing the even money favourite, while punters have flocked to back Miss Sierra Leone in to 16/1 from 66/1.
