Columbus Day Activities For Kids

Monday, October 12, 2009

Today is Columbus Day, and we thought we would review some sites for activities for kids. There are so many things that children can do to get involved in all the fun, all of which means they will not be staring at the TV or playing for hours at a time on their games console.

Seems strange that we would try to deter people away from technology, but just think what it must have been like for Christopher Columbus when he started on his voyage more than 500 years ago. If it were not for him, then all the things that Americans take for granted may never have had happened.

There are so many activities for kids, which is why The Examiner has done some searching to find some of the best websites offering activities for your children to take part in. Below are just a few of the best, we hope that you agree with us.

Why not become an explorer yourself, you will need a pair of binoculars, so why not make them yourself. Learn here.

How about learning more about Christopher Columbus, the best way to do that is by taking part in this fun word game. Find out more here.

Explorer’s like Columbus would often use the stars at night to help them navigate; why not make your own star map. More info here.

A day of activities would not be complete unless your children have gone online to print out some coloring pages. Visit The Examiner for their complete list of different Christopher Columbus coloring pages.
