Top Chef Season 6, episode 6: Ron's been deconstructed

Top Chef

Quickfire: the balance between healthy and unhealthy food. The first Top Chef female judge, Michelle Bernstein officiates. The favorites were Michael, Robin and Eli. Robin wins and gets immunity again, for the second time around. That hardly seems fair, especially when no one likes her to begin with.

Elimination: The remaining cheftestants have to deconstruct their meal.WHAT? Why pull apart perfectly good food?

  • Eli's damaged pressure cooker blows up and gets himself and nearby Bryan. The judges like his sweet & sour meat, which happens to be bulls testicles. Strangely, Padma recognizes these delicacies and lets the guys know, she knows what she's talking about. Huh?
  • Kevin with the facial hair wins, and is giddy with a complete set of Calphalon nonstick cookware. Come on, I know they're expensive, but it's not like it's a "special" gift or anything. You can buy them in a kitchen store for goodness sakes.
  • Ron packs his knives and goes home. He seemed to have trouble with the challenge from the start. Padma didn't like his dish. It didn't taste good. Watch the video below. He's a classically trained chef that doesn't do demolition deconstruction! At least he had a good time. Go Ron!
