Sunday, November 1, 2009

Whether you are on the sidelines or at home, there are several ways to watch the runners of the 2009 NYC Marathon cross the finish line on November 1. Map out the route ahead of time and find the best places to watch the NYC Marathon runners as they run through the streets of New York City. You can also tune in on television or check the statistics of the NYC Marathon on the Internet.

On November 1, more than two million people are expected to fill the sidewalks throughout the five boroughs to watch the 2009 NYC Marathon. If you are in NYC, visit sponsored stations and zones with product giveaways and giant television screens showing the race.

Central Park is a popular place to watch the race. It is also a very crowded spot, so be prepared for slow moving crowds. Good spots include: East Park Drive between 90th and 86th Streets; Park Drive below 72nd is often more crowded.

With marathon runners making their way through the five New York boroughs, there will be plenty of neighborhoods where crowds gather to cheer on the runners as they cross the finish line.
