Sunday, October 25, 2009
UFC 104 will be remembered for one thing and one thing only, the controversial decision on the Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Lyoto Machida fight. That fight saw Machida walk away with the win, but even UFC President Dana White believed that Shogun should have been awarded the win.
That fight was very close 48-47, which we discussed in a recent post. That fight was the main event, but there were a number of other fights that need to be discussed, and MMA Fanhouse has the play by play results of each fight.
The fight with Velasquez and Rothwell was a one sided fight, Velasquez won by taking Rothwell down; the referee had to stop the fight in the second round 58 seconds in. Gleison Tibau beat Josh Neer in a unanimous decision.
Joe Stevenson won by dropping Spencer Fisher in the second round. Anthony Johnson beat Yoshiyuki Yoshida; he knocked him out n the first 41 seconds of the fight.
