City election nearing, many run unopposed

Incumbents in Osceola’s city election will all run unopposed Nov. 3, while Woodburn and Murray’s city election will have many contestants.
Fred Diehl is seeking his seventh two-year term as mayor. Glenn Schaff, at large, and Peggy Mateer, second ward, are running unopposed for another four-year term.
Randy Wright is running unopposed for his seat as Woodburn’s mayor. Four candidates are running for three open Woodburn council seats. Those running are Teresa Wright, Laura Chumbley and incumbents Charles Livesay and Vickie Brown.
In Murray, Mary Donner will run unopposed for mayor. Scott Busick, Sheri Miller, Jodie Collins and Pat Collins will compete for two open council seats. Busick is the only incumbent.
