Call rates to fixed/mobile reduced up to 35% - Monthly rental reduced up to 48%

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the nation's number one integrated communications service provider launched yet another ground breaking special tariff plan for its post-paid telephone users under the brand name of 'V talk' which offers the freedom to choose a preferred calling plan. V talk comprises of customized tariff options for all voice communication needs that would make up a part of the day-to-day lifestyles of all members of the family or a business organization. This is the first time that SLT is offering its telephone customers a variety of tariff plans that grants people the freedom to choose a call rate plan they want. SLT V talk tariff plans comprise of four options in addition to the existing two options of standard home and business packages which are charged on a per second basis. The new packages are named as VALUE, ACTIVE, NOVEL, and FOREVER and they offer per second billing, low call charges, low rentals, flat rates, low calling rates for mobiles, and are also able to meet special requirements like Fixed rate per call OR Fixed rate per minute options. Any SLT Megaline or SLT Citylink CDMA customer can select one of these V talk price plans and requests can be made at any Regional Office or Teleshop of SLT.

SLT's customers island-wide will get the opportunity to adjust themselves to one of the brand new tariff plans which suits them if they wish to receive more benefits. The new packages will be available for both new customers as well as for present SLT customers. There are alternative pricing methods a customer can select depending on their requirement.

VALUE package - Low call rates & Lower monthly rental offer for low monthly budgets

With the VALUE package from V talk - customers can enjoy per second billing at low rates during peak, economy and discount time bands with the lowest monthly rental of Rs. 245/=. The real VALUEs of this package are; the reduced monthly rental and reduced call rates. Making a call to any network including the mobile phone networks will cost maximum 6 cents per second. Within the SLT network in same area code which is a local call will be charged maximum 4.5 cents per second. Also during Economy time band calls to any network, will be charged half the call rate of the Peak time band. During Discount time band any call to any network (fixed & mobile network) will be charged lowest as 1 Cents per second.
SLT believes the customers who maintain lower budgets on their monthly telephone bills will be benefitted through this VALUE package.

Peak time: Monday to Friday - 7am to 6pm and Saturday - 7am to 2pm. Economy time: Monday to Friday - 5am to 7am and 6pm to 9pm, Saturday - 5am to 7am and 2pm to 9pm and Sunday and Public Holidays - 5am to 9pm. Discount time: Everyday - 9pm to 12 midnight and 12 midnight to 5am.

ACTIVE package - Lowest Rates for high usage

ACTIVE package is specially designed to bring down the cost of voice communications at homes or office environments that maintain high monthly telephone bills. With this package, SLT Customers can enjoy making frequent calls at the lowest calling rates to any network including fixed and mobile networks. ACTIVE package offers attractive calling rates during Business Hours which are lower than the peak rate of VALUE package. With ACTIVE package, making a call to any network including the mobile phone networks will cost a maximum of 5 cents per second. Within the SLT network in same area code which is a local call will be charged maximum 4 cents per second. During Discount time band any call to any network (fixed & mobile network) will be charged lowest as 1 Cents per second. In ACTIVE package there are only two time bands as Business Hours & Discount Band.

Business Hours: Everyday - 5am to 9pm and Discount Time: Everyday - 9pm to 12 midnight and 12 midnight to 5am. ACTIVE package monthly rental is Rs. 495/=.

NOVEL package - Flat calling rate to any network island wide

With the NOVEL package from V talk - you can talk to anyone in Sri Lanka on any network at anytime for the simple flat rate of 4.7 cents per second. NOVEL package is especially designed to offer users to talk freely without thinking of peak, off-peak time bands or the networks, whether they are fixed or mobile. Customers can make calls to any mobile network or any CDMA network because of the simple flat rate of 4.7 cents per second. NOVEL package monthly rental is Rs. 395/=.

FOREVER package - Talk freely for hours for less to any fixed/mobile telephone

With the FOREVER package from V Talk, you can talk to anyone in the country on any network at anytime for flat rate at Rs.9/= per call. Time allowed per call this is 15 Minutes (900 seconds) of talk time and a call exceeding that time charges same for every 15 minutes talk time. It offers the simple flat rate to any call on any network at anytime of the day gives the best rate for callers up to 1 cent per second to call freely irrespective of the telephone connection using by the other party. FOREVER package monthly rental is Rs. 495/=.

Existing Home & Business standard packages - Rs. 400/= discount every month

These two packages will exist followed by a billing discount which could amount to Rs.400 worth of call charges per month and also charged on per second basis. All the telephone users who are willing to continue with their existing tariff plan will continue to receive a maximum of Rs. 400 worth of free calls per month. Discount Time band will remain as everyday - 9pm to 12 midnight and 12 midnight to 5am. At present, discount band will charge only 50 cents per minute to any network.

SLT to any network - freely take calls to mobile/fixed phones

Today's telecommunication market in the country comprises of around 15 million telephone connections including both fixed and mobile telephones. With these newly introduced V talk packages, SLT is looking forward to facilitate SLT fixed line and CDMA customers to take calls to any network including mobile phones by largely reducing call charges up to 35% of existing tariffs.

There will be a Rs. 250/= transfer fee applicable when an existing SLT customer switches between any of the packages introduced.

All the charges mentioned above are exclusive of government taxes.
